OBJECTIVES OF THE TRUST:
The Trust is established on a non profit basis to support endeavors in the fields of education, environment, environmental journalism, human rights with special reference to women’s rights.

Currently the trust is focusing on two areas:

  1. Providing educational grants to the deserving particular women.
  2. Supporting women in acquiring vocational training.

The Objects of the Trust include in addition to the above the following:

  1. To support women’s empowerment through development projects and by using other strategies so that women are able to participate fully as equal citizens of Pakistan.

  2. To support projects which deal with consciousness raising and awareness and provide information on Women’s Rights and aid women to exercise their rights.

  3. To support projects and strategies which increase women’s access to information, resources, skills and decision making.

  4. To support advocacy and consciousness raising through advocacy and lobbying.

  5. To highlight iniquitous laws and practices and support projects and strategies which aim to bring about a positive change in policies, laws and practices.

  6. To promote women’s education using various strategies including the provision of scholarships.

  7. To support projects and strategies which focus on human rights issues including awareness raising on these issues and advocacy and lobbying efforts.

  8. To support environmental projects.

  9. To support research and publications in the areas covered in this clause.

  10. To support organizations eg Shirkat Gah, IUCN, PANOS, etc  and causes and actions which Saneeya was involved in during her lifetime including those in particular where she worked either as an employee or in a voluntary capacity.

  11. To Support scholarships and awards for young men and women to pursue higher education specifically a Masters degree  in the fields of journalism, environmental studies and environmental journalism.

  12. To carry out such other works in keeping with the spirit of this Trust as the Trustees in their sole discretion deem fit and to do all such other matters and things and to take all other actions as may appear to the Trustees to be in the best interest of the intended beneficiaries of this Trust and which are consistent or conducive with the Objects set out herein.

  13. To accept donations, grants, contributions and subsidies from philanthropists, local and offshore donors and donor agencies, grants commissions, institutions, organizations, Federal, Provincial and Local governments and government sponsored organizations, trusts and agencies and from public donors in general for the advancement and promotion of the causes mentioned herein.

  14. Establish, subsidise, promote, take over, associate with, receive into the Trust, become member of, act as or appoint Trustee, agents or delegates for, control, manage, superintend, give gifts, lend monetary or other assistance to any association, institution, trust or fund whether incorporated or not, which to the Trust may seem conducive to achieving or furthering any of the objects or purposes of the Trust provided the same has been approved under Section 47(1) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 1979.

  15. Appoint / Dismiss employees, determine terms and conditions of service; appoint / nominate consultants; co-opt advisors for the purposes of achieving the objects of the Trust..
